Perhaps did anyone know that Indira Gandhi purposefully devalued indian rupee to boom exports.India is definitely loosing its grounds in international Market. God cannot save India !!! It is for the people to raise now and wipe off the Black Sheep. Well Indian middle class is the biggest buyer of gold, so does that mean they should reduce that? Infact where else do they invest the money? It is paradoxical that such things happen repeatedly (like failure to bring back black money from abroad) and absolutely no effort is taken from the government. They keep on giving excuses and passing the burden and responsibility on public, like Chidambaram says telling the people not to buy Gold from abroad etc. Perhaps the days are not far off when public will be the most sufferers and the Politicians, black marketeers, Businessmen will be happily living in luxury as ever.
For all we can say is that It is gross mismanagement of the Indian economy by the present government. We want strong leadership which is missing at the moment. Well apparently ,most currencies go up or down time to time against US dollar, but after a while they recover. It is only Indian Rupee that - once it sinks never float again.
Asked about it, one of my friend from Bangalore says, "The middle class I know were hit hard by the fact that one Kg beans cost Rs 120 and a Kg tomatoes cost Rs 100. I don't know if there is any link between dollar and cost of vegetables. My friends son wanted to go to Delhi to attend a staff selection commission interview. He tried booking through IRCTC website- but it was useless. He went to booking counter at 4 AM only to find about 100 touts in the queue and he could not get ticket.He bought a one-way air plane ticket after selling a gold ornament of his mother. He came back in a general compartment, standing for about 24 hours."
Inflation is largely due to people like the FM Chidambaram and economist in general not seeing that in India the cost of a cup of tea is directly related to the cost of a cigarette more than it relates to what it takes to prepare it. So piously increasing by more than 15% the cost of cigarettes budget after budget on some weird logic, the cost of everything else naturally shoots up.
