Friendship Day Special :)

A friend who covers not sin
But covers from sin
Is a friend indeed
For he sees our need

A friend who can embrace
When others pick race
Is a friend indeed
For he will help to proceed

A friend who can scold
When one stray from the fold
A friend who trust in our deed
Is a friend indeed

A friend who seek
When one is sick
Is a friend indeed
In the time of need

A friend whose tender compassion
Is not subjected to condition
He is a friend indeed
That is not a reed
He may have no money to spray
But never lack good thing to say
A friend indeed
Is a form of seed

He never makes fun of you
His presence is a fun to you
A friend in need
Is a friend indeed

A friend who keeps no secret
But keeps one’s secret
He is a friend indeed
That can be trusted indeed

He will not expose our shame
But cloths from shame
A friend indeed
Is a friend in need

A friend who sees our fault
But never drag to the court
He is a friend indeed
That loves indeed

A friend who sees our weakness
But focus on our usefulness
He is a friend indeed
In the time of need

A friend who will never spit
When we fall into the pit
He is a friend indeed
That sees our need

A friend who shares burden
But never wear with burden
He is a friend indeed
For he loves indeed

A friend who will not bubble
When one fumbles
He is a friend indeed
For he knows our need

A friend who work in
When the whole world work out
He is a friend indeed
In time of need

Today's cool is so Un-cool: An Article by Rohith Devatha

I donno what get passed off to being cool these days. Off late to add to my rage due to issues pertaining to marital bliss I find the coolness of some teens too much to handle. Am I biting more than I can actually chew??

Take for example, something I experienced couple of days back. Two guys who were dressed in absolute rags and consider that cool. Guy 1 was wearing a t-shirt which was like 4 times his actual size and pants which was neither shorts nor 3/4ths or for that matter full pant. It was more like poodle crossed with bull dozer. You don’t get it do you? Yes! I meant nonsensical. On the other hand Guy 2 looked a little more sophisticated for a first glance with unkempt hair and goatie to go with it. A little more attention you get to the bottom half he was wearing a low waist jean which in no way was low waist. It was more low thigh jeans or upper knee jeans. Jeez! As embarrassed as I was, I was hungry too.

So here I was trying to concentrate on the lip smacking street vendor’s delicacy. There were Bonda’s, Masala Vada, Onion Pakoda etc and I was plotting in my mind how to optimize the money in my pocket to get maximum utilization. Damn Right! I was being Economist in my own small world. I got interrupted by the conversation by the two guys. Here is how it went.

Wannabe Coolguy: Brooooo, Wassup Brooooooo?
Hopeful Coolguy: Duuuuuude, Long time!

(At this point my mind was racing of the learning I had during school. Bro has just one “O” and Dude has just one “U” Don’t these guys know that?)

Wannabe Coolguy: Brooooo, Yeah Broooo, Guess what happened broooooooo. I had a fight with my dove brooooo. Sad bro! (Shaking his head incessantly)
Hopeful Coolguy: Duuuuuuude, Don’t worry duuuuude! Why duuuuuude? Why did you fight with your DOVE duuuuuuude. Chill Duuude.

(I was just hoping the lightning could strike and end this conversation that instant but as nature would have it, it wanted me to go through this gruesome torture)

Wannabe Coolguy: She called me snobbish brooo. The fight is nothing at all broooo. But snobbish? What does she think of herself?
Long Intense pause and both look at each other. In the meantime they place order for Bonda’s.

“Guru Hathroopai bonda kodu” (Give me bonda for Rs 10)
Wannabe Coolguy: Broooo What is snobbish brooooo?
Hopeful Coolguy: No Idea, Duuuuude!

Pondering over what the actual meaning could be they come with different meanings for the word with ridiculous probabilities ranging from foolish, selfish, cheapish and so on. Absolute RUBBISH is what I though and their thought was being curtained with ISH factor primarily.

I couldn’t take no more. I had to get in between and sort things out for these teens. In fact I went to the extent of explaining the meaning of the word snobbish to these guys.

Just a small word of caution to all the bro’s and dude’s; Your bro’s and dude’s don’t make you cooler than what you are and lesser too. With screwed up English you are more looked like a wannabe than anything else. And yeah! Bro and Dude are spelt with one “O” and one “U” respectively. Thanks to them I lost my appetite and saved some money.

Top 5 myths about water.

It can even kill you
Visit Us @ www.MumbaiHangOut.Org
Water is an amazing substance - we can't live without it and in fact we are mostly made of it.
So it is not surprising that a whole bunch of half-truths and myths exist about water,
especially when it comes to your health.
So here are our top 5 myths about water.
Myth 1: We should drink 8 glasses of water a day to avoid dehydration
Probably one of the most widely-believed yet false beliefs about water -
no doubt encouraged by bottled water brands.
It's true that our bodies need a fair amount of water every day.
According to the British Dietetic Association, most of us need the equivalent of around six to eight glasses of fluid a day, fluid not water. Much of this can be obtained from the food we eat - fruit and vegeatables are 80-90 per cent water by weight - and other drinks including milk, tea and coffee.
Obviously in hotter, sweatier conditions we need to up our intake to make up for the extra loss, but again, any non-alcoholic drink will suffice.
Your body is also very good at regulating its water levels - it will get rid of excess by sweat and urine and when levels are low you will feel thirsty and compelled to drink.
Myth 3: Water is harmless (apart from drowning!)
Generally speaking water is a non-toxic substance.
But it is possible to drink too much water.
In extreme cases drinking too much water can cause an electrolyte imbalance
in the body, known as "water intoxication."
Athletes in extreme sports such as marathon runners have been know to suffer from this condition.
Their sport causes them to sweat profusely, leading to a loss of both water and electrolytes, including sodium.
But if they drink a lot of water in a short period of time without replacing the lost electrolytes, sodium levels in the blood fall, which can be potentially life-threatening.
Myth 4: Bottled water is safer that tap water
Would you drink a liquid containing chemicals that may have been exposed to pesticides,
man-made fertilisers and even radioactive materials and destroys the environment?
Then you will probably be happy to pay 1,500 times the going rate to drink water from a plastic bottle.
Tap water is subject to stringent health and safety requirements.
It is continuously tested and safe to drink. Bottled waters often come from exactly
the same sources as tap water - in fact some are tap water.
Much bottled water is prepared with lower safety standards than tap water, and it consumes vast resources to bottle, ship, market and sell it. That's why it costs around 1,500 times more per drink than tap water, which is safe, cheap, convenient and by the far the most eco-friendly way to get water.
Myth 5: Water can help you lose weight
Actually there is some truth is this idea. But only some.
Going back to myth 1, drinking calorie-free and sugar-free water is a better way to get your daily fluid intake than gulping back sugary, high-calorie soft drinks.
And some studies have shown that if you drink a pint of water before a meal it can help you eat less. But the key point here is that you do in fact need to eat less - the water itself does not in any way reduce your body fat.

Kuhoo Gupta(Singer) Exclusive Interview With Prakhyath Rais Blog

About Kuhoo:
Independent Singer/Musician. Winner of "Best Genre - Light Music" Award for independent music in India by hungama.com group. Album of original songs "Kuhoo Kuhoo Bole Koyaliya" selling on all online stores. Lead Vocalist at Sonore Unison.
Kuhoo(the name defines her voice) began singing at the tender age of 5. Her formal education in music started at the age of 11 when she started training in Hindustani Classical Vocals. She won many national level prizes in singing.
Equally competent in academics, Kuhoo studied in IIT Mumbai and completed her M. Tech from Computer Science department. Currently, she is a professional singer and a software engineer based out of Pune, India. She has recorded professionally Indian classical and semi classical songs along with the contemporary film music. Always willing to experiment and with a huge appetite to improve, Kuhoo has also delved into the world of western songs and has recorded professionally for fusion songs. She has sung some original compositions as well which shows how well she can understand and interpret a fresh melody and shows her ability to mould herself according to the composer’s frame of mind.

So it was a opportunity for me to have this girl interviewed ,Perhaps this is the first Interview by an Artist in "Prakhyath Rai's Blog".The extract is as below.

1.Some Legends say that a True Singer Must be able to smile and cry with music. What do you say for this?

Ans:Expressions are as important while singing as sur. One has to feel the song and imbibe its essence while singing. I would say a true singer should be able to make the listener smile or cry as per the mood of the song.
2.There are many Budding Singers who want to touch the fame like you gained. What is your sincere advice for a budding singer to become a Great singer like you?

Ans:To be honest, I try everyday to become a great singer and the journey is unending. My advice to the budding singers would be to first focus on the basics of singing, then try to sing with a feel and then try to leave a unique impression of an individual in the rendition. All this to reach the heights in the art form. To achieve commercial success, we all know how much the networking, chasing around people and "luck" plays a part in the journey.

3.How did your family  Support you  in your early singing life?

Ans:I have been singing since my childhood and my family supported and encouraged me in every possible way all this while. They made me participate in various singing competitions, took me to different cities for the same, helped me get a formal education in classical music, helped me in coping up with my studies whenever needed, got me the required equipments/instruments needed for my music and the list goes on!
4.So how does it feel to be a singer  in a great college(IIT,Mumbai)??

Ans:Yes, I have done M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay and destiny landed me up at IIT Bombay. There is a great cultural atmosphere in the institute and I had a superb tenure there with my technical and music buddies. At the end of the day it feels great to have an association with one of the greatest engineering institutes in the world and I am proud of it.
5.How is music and Life related according to you? Have you ever imagined a life without Music?

Ans:There has never been a day when music did not happen to me. Music and life came to me together when I was born and will be with me forever. I think any musician would share the feeling.
6."Behind every successful man there is a woman" ...Did the viceversa happened in your case?

Ans:Of course, I would deeply acknowledge and thank the contributions of my father, husband and brother in my music journey till now. In fact the music genes in me come from my father!
7. How did these Social networking sites helped in your Fame?

Ans:As we all know how important is networking in this industry to get in touch with the right people. Social networking sites did play a great role in my case in getting in touch with other musicians. I was a part of some online music forums where I found very talented composers, lyricists & singers and we collaborated to create some really good original music. My albums are a result of such online collaborations.
