Life's Little Instruction Book

Have a firm handshake.

                                                         Look people in the eye..

                                                           Sing in the shower.

                                                        Own a great stereo system.

If in a fight, hit first and hit hard.

                                                              Keep secrets.

Never give up on anybody.. Miracles happen everyday.

                                                   Always accept an outstretched hand.

Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.

                                                                 Whistle.
                                                  Avoid sarcastic remarks. (my emphasis)

Choose your life's mate carefully. > From this one decision will come 90 per cent of all your happiness or misery.

Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out.

Lend only those books you never care to see again.
Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all that they have.

When playing games with children, let them win.

                                                               Be romantic.

Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.

Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life-and-death matters, nothing is as important as it first seems.

Don't allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It's there for your convenience, not the caller's.

                                                             Be a good loser.

                                                            Be a good winner.

Think twice before burdening a friend with a secret.

When someone hugs you, let them be the first to let go.

Be modest. A lot was accomplished before you were born.

                                                             Keep it simple.

Beware of the person who has nothing to lose.

Don't burn bridges. You'll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river.

Live your life so that your epitaph could read, No Regrets

Be bold and courageous. When you look back on life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the one's you did.

Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.

Remember no one makes it alone. Have a grateful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who helped you.

Take charge of your attitude. Don't let someone else choose it for you.

Visit friends and relatives when they are in hospital; you need only stay a few minutes.

Begin each day with some of your favorite music.

Once in a while, take the scenic route.

Send a lot of Valentine cards. Sign them, 'Someone who thinks you're terrific.'

Answer the phone with enthusiasm and energy in your voice.

Keep a note pad and pencil on your bed-side table. Million-dollar ideas sometimes strike at 3 a.m.

Show respect for everyone who works for a living, regardless of how trivial their job.

Send your loved ones flowers. Think of a reason later.

Make someone's day by paying the toll for the person in the car behind you.

                                                          Become someone's hero.

                                                           Marry only for love.

                                                          Count your blessings.

Compliment the meal when you're a guest in someone's home.

Wave at the children on a school bus.

Remember that 80 per cent of the success in any job is based on your ability to deal with people.

And at last, don't expect life to be fair.

Tomorrow may be our turn.

The Rain

Description: cid:7FE152C4A67F4A4285EE6F0C3D08AE11@yourf78bf48ce2
It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly
gentleman in his 80's arrived to have
stitches removed from his thumb
He said he was in a hurry as he had an
appointment at 9:00 am.
I took his vital
signs and had him take a seat,
knowing it would be over an hour
before someone
would to able to see him.
I saw him looking at his watch and
decided, since I
was not busy with another patient,
I would evaluate his wound.
On exam, it was
well healed, so I talked to one of the
doctors, got the needed supplies to
remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of
his wound, I asked him if he
had another doctor's appointment
this morning, as
he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he
needed to go to
the nursing home to eat breakfast
with his wife. I inquired as to her
health.

Description: cid:4B7E1CC62DDF40CCB5395F61E645F748@yourf78bf48ce2
He told me that
 she had been there
for a while and that she
was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we
talked, I asked if she would be
upset if he was a bit late.

He
replied that she no longer knew
who he was, that she had not
recognized him in
five years now.

Description: cid:24D1EA3D693143EBB417BFCBCCC5EF9A@yourf78bf48ce2
I was surprised, and asked him,
'And you still go every
morning, even though she
doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he
patted my hand and said,

'She doesn't

know me, but I still know who she is.'

Description: cid:4B866FAFDF7A419EAA9FE50D23A1D3AE@yourf78bf48ce2
I had to hold back
tears as he left, I had goose bumps
on my arm, and thought,

'That is
the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is
neither physical, nor romantic.

Description: cid:3259CA5742FD441393009764AD411A83@yourf78bf48ce2
True love is an
acceptance of all that is,
has been, will be, and will not
be.

With all the jokes
and fun that are in e-mails,
sometimes there is one that comes
along that has an
important message..
This one I thought I could share with you.

The
happiest people don't necessarily
have the best of everything;
they just make
the best of everything they have.

I hope you share this with someone you
care about. I just did..

Description: cid:A6DFC76C5E4E40A6B06F5041D0A94B6C@yourf78bf48ce2
'Life isn't about
how to survive the storm,
But how to dance
in the rain.'
We are all getting Older
Tomorrow may be our turn.

Guest Post By Venkateswaran

O' Death......

O' Death, you don't be so proud,
You should be rather ashamed to be away from the crowd.
I really feel pity for you, O' dear,
Coz you can only hurt and kill the people who fear.

There are people facing you being bold,
In front of them you seen as if sold.
Agreed that those people are few,
But those are enough to make you sue.

I am waiting for you so long,
But don't know why you are away so long.
You can only make people cry in a crowd,
O' Death, you are wicked, so don't be proud.

I am here O' death, waiting for you,
Feeling for you, as you can't get me through.
Take me with you as I am ready to face you,
I know crying for me are only a few.

O' Death, you don't be so proud,
You should be rather ashamed to be away from the crowd.
I really feel pity for you, O' dear,
Coz you can only hurt and kill the people who fear.

We might fear death, but never want to realize that everyone of us have to leave this world, so live to the fullest.
Let Death go through many hurdles before taking you with it.....

Lets face it ...
:)

Wind......

What can I say about you, O' Wind, you just blow
Sometimes turn into a storm, while sometimes give me an emotional flow
You have a soft sound when you blow,
I feel like the wind is taking my soul with it,
I wished i could really go with it.

Wind O' wind, can I come with you,
you never stop what may come in front of you.
You blow so hard and make us fear,
a fear that may bring us on our tear.

I wish you blew up away my grief,
I request you to make me taste some relief.
Wind O' wind, you are the best,
but I do fear the storm that puts us to rest.

But its wrong for me to ask you to keep still,
You might be harsh at times,
but for making us live I would respect you still.
Thanks, O' Wind for blowing and blowing,
Can never think the way we may live without you on going.

We sometimes forget to thank the forms of our nature which helps us in some or the other ways, I will keep on thanking the nature for every reason that it helps me and everyone out here....

My Love.....

My Love was when i first proposed you,
near a small tree standing besides you,
with a hope that  you will accept me,
But had to change my mind after you rejecting me.

Guess my proposal was not so good,
at that time, it was the best that i could.
You were going home in front of me,
I was  shocked that couldn't even show my plea.

I waited these years and will always do,
with a hope that you'll someday love me too.
Everyday I wake with a hope that you agree,
Every night passes away like the same, disappointing me.

I've seen your love towards me dear,
your eyes said them all, but don't know why you fear.
I love you, I love you, I love you, that is all i say,
My love is true and I know , it won't make me pay.

The Love of mine is calling you,
I gave you my heart and it will always be with you.
I am sure some day you'll come to me,
and i will wait for the day you'll love back me.

My Love was when i first proposed you,
near a small tree standing besides you,
with a hope that  you will accept me,
But had to change my mind after you rejecting me.

This is for my love, a sincere love is waiting for you my dear.
Hope you'll soon realize... :)
